Hello! My name is Lucas Tucker, a 12th grader at Campolindo and the co-president of the school's Poetry and Creative Writing Club. Having supported my local community in the past (volunteered at old age homes and worked at child summer camps), I am always thinking about how to help my neighbors and friends, and I envision this program stretching far beyond the Bay Area. Many kids are under a stay at home restriction, so Friendly Flash Fiction serves to keep students' creativity flowing outside of the classroom. Stay creative!
Hello, my name is Angeni Lieben. I am 16 years old, a 11th grader at Campolindo High School, and the co-president of the Poetry and Creative Writing Club at school. I loved writing as a young kid and still do! I want to help spread this creativity to students who are stuck at home and out of ideas. Writing can be healing and comforting at moments like these and anyone can do it. While things may seem uncertain and daunting right now, connecting to write is a great way for kids to stay engaged and happy. I look forward to helping them realize the power of writing!
Hello! My name is Madison Lee and I am a sophomore at Campolindo. I have been involved with creativity-based activities throughout my life, from performing skits in Odyssey of the Mind to acting in musicals to writing stories. I developed my love for creative writing at an early age and am excited to share that love with others. From my experience, I have discovered the true importance of having someone to support your writing and am excited to do just that.

Hello, my name's Justin. I'm a senior at Campolindo, and an avid artist. I love painting, playing music, public speaking, and of course, writing. Creative expression has played an immeasurable role in shaping me into the person I am today. I look forward to helping my students discover the same fulfillment in creating exciting new pieces.
Hi! My name is Kajol Mangu and I am a senior at Campolindo High School. To me, creative writing is like a portal, allowing one to escape into a whole new world. I would love sharing this experience with children, which is why I am so excited to be a part of Team FFF!
Hi! My name is Emma Ngo, and I'm a junior at Campolindo Highschool and a swimmer at Orinda Aquatics. When I'm not in the pool, I enjoy painting, drawing, and creative writing. For recreational writing, I mostly stick with poetry and realistic fiction, and I am really looking forward to helping students broaden their skills in language arts :)

Hi! My name is Kiera. I have been super passionate about writing for years. I feel like you can communicate things through writing you can’t through conversation, and I believe there is so much value in teaching that art to kids. I love how open minded kids can be, and I will cherish the opportunity to teach them how to love writing.

Our Program

Friendly Flash Fiction is a high school student-run program dedicated to providing quality writing lessons to kids ages 7-14. We create prompts based on the interests of each child in our one-on-one sessions, ensuring an engaging educational experience. Furthermore, each lesson's payment goes directly to the UCSF Coronavirus Response Fund, a critical source of support to our Bay Area community.
